So, it all still boils down to a point where a decision has to be made.

A close friend that I made here advises me to count my blessings, and I really will.

I have not been travelling much. Feeling like I should be travelling more, like, almost every weekend, but I have no idea, don't know the means of how to travel.

The last Sunday were bad days because of many bad incidents. Firstly, I cut myself while chopping up shallots :( Secondly, the trip me and my NUS friends went together on ended up with us going to visit a house that has nobody inside instead of a winery that we were supposed to find. Thirdly, I lost my student card while on the trip. Fourthly, we got asked for Proof of Age while getting alcohol, and all of it was confiscated when only one of us could not prove our age >.> Went back to my hall feeling very sad.

Me eating alone sadly has drawn a rather big crowd of people to eat together in the same table. Of course, I had to hide the sadness lingering in my heart. This is when my new good friend appeared. We talked to each other, I shared my troubles and bad events that happened. She told me to count my blessings and bad luck to not last. We talked for a long time, it made me feel much better, so I decided to reward her with me cooking for dinner.

However, things took a turn today. Today was a great day indeed! I received an e-mail saying that somebody picked up my card and wants to return it to me! It made me really happy to see that card again. Thank you, guy who returned my Student Card. Dinner was great as well. I finally succeeded in making the baked rice that I have always wanted to make. The people around me tried and liked it as well, I was so elated. My good friend liked it a lot as well, as evidently seen in the speed she finished her somewhat small portion.

I will know to count my blessings. You have bad days, that's okay. You have good days, appreciate them. Thank you, to my angel that made my exchange life so much better. Let me contribute back to your life.

Too many things have been happening and the post dragged. A semester when the nerd decides to give no heck about his research assignments due this week.

Balloon Spectacular
was not as spectacular as we expected since the balloons went off one by one. Was with XiaoJuan and Cheryl. A nice picture was not possible since you actually are surrounded, 360 degrees, with hot-air balloons! Would actually be nicer if you ARE inside one of those balloons, but it costs 300 AUD per person, so... we visited Old Parliament House of Australia instead.

Symphony by the Park
This was the first time I actually experienced live concert performance outdoors. Was with Cherry, Xinran, Andy. It was super entertaining because I simply love the music. I was amazed by how the entire orchestra could play in perfect synchronization with a cartoon showed on the big screen. Very entertaining night, also partly because of what happened that night after the performance hee hee.

Canberra Lights
This was one event that we dragged so long because of the weather. Was with Raad. Gloomy rainy weather didn't deter us on the last day of the event where we went to the Parliament House to catch the last few moments of Canberra Lights, projection on buildings and spectacular light shows.

Black Mountain Hike
Today, after staring out of my window everyday at the tower, we, XiaoJuan, Andy, William, finally decided to hike up Black Mountain, 812m above sea level, to Telstra Tower, a local telco company tower. Was easier than expected, but to our disappointment, all the places with good views are cordoned off. Still an accomplishment anyhow :D

Skyfire 2014
Was pretty bored with all the performances (to be a tad too honest). I was only here for the fireworks! We got a really good seat, or a spot of grass, rather, with Cherry and Yang. The fireworks above Lake Burley Griffin lasted 18 mins. It was simply a huge feast for the eyes (though the background music is pretty irritating). You really have to be there and experience the whole atmosphere yourself! A sample of a snapshot, high quality video in my laptop.

Went back to B&G kitchen after that. I then made the conclusion that a person should not prepare food at night! Haha!

One thing that I am glad about, was that I go for events with different people, enhancing interaction, oh and, who says Canberra is a boring city?

School
So, it was the end of Week 2. Not much stories to share because I haven't been travelling as much as I wanted to. I have been studying more than what I should be. I want to travel around and do things more exciting,  but how? I haven't been doing it. A very good friend actually agreed to lend me her bike, so now I became more mobile, which is a great thing because it really speeds things up a lot. Great, so that's 1 step towards travelling!

Cooking
Bought a whole lot of groceries today, fish and meat and very happy with it. Feeling excited about what I should cook with them. Plans include Baked Rice and Spaghetti. Today, I cooked Tom Yum, as well as sambal prawns. Seems like my cooking is really going to improve :)
