Farewell Assembly 2008
As I was thinking about the past, 2 years has indeed gone by very quickly. From Orientation, all the way till now, where A levels are staring at us. I may not be so much of an emotional person, but yet, there was this sense of longing.

Maybe too much have happened. Maybe it's the teachers? They were excellent teachers really! Miss Wu, was a really great teacher who never fails help us in many ways. She has really did a lot for us! Also, I'm glad that I belong to a wonderful class, 07S41.

Do you remember the time when I propose the topic "07S41:Class of Talents" It's really true, if you think back carefully. We have talents in all aspects! Just look, firstly, on the academic side, our class has done well for math and chem, congratulations! :D We have our Mr Genius Erik, who will never fail to outsmart, hahas. Then we'll go to arts. There's Mark, geographer of the 07 batch! And Eric Tay has got the Geog H1 subject prize woohoo! For more arts, we can also look at the wonderful music makers, we have Eric Ng, Daniel, Beatrice and Charissa, who plays National Anthem and Victoria Anthem for the school, impressive! Also, not to mention Li Ying and Stepfanie, in String and CO respectively, making good music! We also have our very own Super Star Keely!!! As for great thinkers and philosophers, we have Shannon, who never fails to come up with brilliant argument points that stumbles the class, and me, in a GP discussion. There is also very kind hearted people, Cheryl from First Aid, and Ivie. They donated blood for 2 years consecutive years! Now, that makes me feel guilty... Over to sports, the best runner in VJC, and (perhaps) in Singapore! We also have Freddie, wow, man! Best Track and Field player in VJC too! Don't forget our sportswoman Natassia. Wow, her soccer just roxxx! Then, we have leadership. Qian Yu from Student's council, Nicole for CT council, and our class also have the most people in house comm, Keely and Aaron! Sorry if I have not mentioned your name, I'm sure that everyone has a talent that will be recognised someday, and I really mean everyone of you!

Now, thinking back... many memories indeed, wonder how much I will forget when I grow older... Now, it is the time for us to work hard for you know what. I wish you all the best, but of course, you have to study hard in order to do it! :D

VJC College Day 2008
Hmm, lol. Stuff not to be proud of actually, but I got a subject prize for being top in cohort in H1 geography, umm, talk about some luck there, haha! This year, I will not get anything at all, sadly. To get the subject prize, one has to be top in cohort and get either an A or B in that subject. My condolences to Mark who got C for H1 Chemistry, but he possess a very applausable quality of honesty for admitting he didn't get A. Nice, my mum and my aunt went and took some pics, but I shall not upload them Zzz, lol. They both thought the performances were very nice, especially the Band's performance, and I totally agree with them. This year has this years targets and goals, and we all will work hard together towards our ultimate goal of our JC life.

A professor was giving a big test one day to his students. He handed out all of the tests and went back to his desk to wait. Once the test was over the students all handed the tests back in. The professor noticed that one of the students had attached a $100 bill to his test with a note saying "A dollar per point." The next class the professor handed the tests back out. This student got back his test and $64 change...

Holidays
How time flies, the holidays are already ending. The preparation of exams... I'm not quite confident, lol. Let's see. Hmm, my parents are giving me the ULTIMATE test man, they are going overseas while we are taking exams ... Aww man, I can't play 24 hours while they are gone >.<>

Birthday
Again, how time flies, I'm now already 18, like wow. I didn't have a major celebration like other people, but it is fine. A big meal is all that would please me :). Made a few wishes etc, kinda not so nice birthday actually, lols.

Q: how many times can you subtract 7 from 83, and what is left afterwards?
A: I can subtract it as many times as I want, and it leaves 76 everytime.

School
It's like wow! It's already mid year and we are taking A' levels so soon, zomg. Anyways, I'm so happy, I have 2 H3 modules... finished! :D. Now all that's left is just the real A'levels itself. Hmm, talk about fast.

Holidays
Is not like holidays considering the fact that I had a PSC PAE test, followed by a H3 exam yesterday. More to come is a SAT test next sat (pun not intended), and last but not least, the final finishing is the Common Test 2, which I have no reason not to do well for ><. So I'll study for CT2 well.

Life
Nowadays, I keep looking at people with pessimisic views about life, and the most funny was the thinking that we cannot define life because it is meaningless. Life is something that is precious, and we should all cherish it because we were granted such a wonderful gift. Thus, you have to use it to the fullest, enjoy it at times, and of course, when it is time to struggle, do so. If you are in hell and you don't keep moving, you get stuck there. So, for those who are struggling, you still have to take some time out to enjy a bit okies? Don't just keep on going, it's not good for the spirit. Must remember this. Oh, and hope you all get the joke :D.

School
Finishing up my lab report. But, how are you going to calculate percentage yield when you don't even know how much you are going to get? lol. Work is done quite quickly nowadays, that I have time, mhh, Chemistry review test coming up. Oh, and how many times must the report that they won so many prizes for ssef!

Flyff
Flyff has its ups and downs. Recently, I'm going back to flyff. A friend is in need. I have to help. Being back to my Ringmaster really feels good :) Gonna play flyff, gotta like it even though it makes it hard to play.

We were oxidizing ethanol to ethanoic acid. If I remember rightly, you reflux it for twenty minutes with dilute HCl to get it to go to an aldehyde first, then bash it with conc. sulphuric and sodium dichromate for another twenty minutes to make it go the rest of the way. Anyhow, there I was carefully following the instructions in the textbook. I got as far as the aldehyde. At this point the book said "Add 5g of Na2Cr2O7." I did that. Then it said "Now using a dropper pippette add 10ml of conc. sulphuric acid..." I did that. Then I read the rest of the line, and it said: "CAREFULLY, drop by drop over 10 minutes." I lifted my heead to see evil looking bubbles spewing forth from my pear-shaped flask beneath a growing tower of thick orange fumes. It looked like something off the set for Jeckyll and Hyde.

School
Yes, I finally bother to spend some time to put up a post. School hasn't been so good, it must be because I flopped my H3 test. Grr. To make it up, I have to pia for normal stream studies... and be sure to own the last test. Other that that, I did less well than normal for CT, so I would expect a good improvement for CT2. So, enough anbout academics.

Virtual World
It's the virtual world I'm talking about. Some of you won't know about this. I'm a gamer, lol. I specialise in MMORPG, so that's why I speak of the virtual world. Being in the virtual world has really taought me some things, how to be nice to others etc, and most importantly, understanding myself. In the net, I can be what the inside of me tells me to do, which can't be done in real. People should try out actually, to be what they want to be. Though only virtually, it still allows you to test it out 'virtually' too. There are actually more things to be said here, but I guess I shouldn't, hehe.

Others
Recently, I've got a new phone, yay, after nearly a year of using an old lau gu dong handphone. It is as I wanted, a music phone. :))) Yea, so it was good. I started taking some pictures and try to give some interesting names to them too, haha. Lookies, a Quantum Physics 3 joke, only understandable after you read the notes.

Joke of the Post
If you never do your assignment, say this to your professor.
Professor: Where is your assignment?
Student: Oh, I know its momentum so precisely that it could be almost anywhere in the universe.

School
Hmm... SSEF is finally over. Now it's time to study for Common Test and H3 Assessment. I can predict that I won't do so well ><.

Singapore Science and Engineering Fair
Somehow, I quite liked it. It wasn't fun, but it gave me a chance to show my project. On the judging day, I was not really bothered about getting any awards one, so I just anyhow whack. Then in the end, they gave me a merit award, then I thought... ohh, I should've just tried harder la. The motivation came at the wrong time ><. It was good though, winning something is quite good already. Nice people there too. Really hope I can see them again.

School
Heh... school work huh? I'm like... I will underperform for my CT. Why is that so ><. The timing for this Common Test is seriously just wrong. I have my H3 NAV Oral Defence so close to the CT, also the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair clashes with CT. What's worse? I also have a H3 assessment on that week's saturday. Oh and something even more worse! H1 Geog people have to study more than H2 students for the geog CT!? What kind of law is this?
Hehe, but think on the better side, I completed my H3 Oral Defence today and I think I did fairly well haha. The judges I kena is also one of the judges for SSEF. I went into the room and recognised his face, the SSEF associate professor, like wow... an I lucky to kena him? lol. And also, the other judge actually guessed that my mentor is someone... and that someone is actually my real mentor's research group leader, there must be some sort of link there. But anyways I'm really happy that a H3 is done for, and a job well done indeed :)

On Wednesday, we had this stress management talk yes? Then they gave us this test to see how 'optimistic' you are. Kinda inaccurate to a large extent, but I got 6/8. Does it really reflect that I'm a optimist? Well maybe? Cos even Miss Wu said that I'm an optimistic person haha. Yes, I tend to look at stuff in the positive light and when something goes wrong I do not panic like siao like that. Maybe.. just maybe. Today is 29th Feb. And you know that Leap Year movie, one of their quote is "To have love and lost, is better than never to have loved at all." I used it before haha. Relatively interesting. Also seen more meaningful quotes, but can't really remember now. This post has an interesting joke, read it :D.

Joke of the Post
An elderly lady with several pets called to say that her telephone failed to ring when her friends called; and that on the few occasions when it did ring, her dog always barked first. The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic dog. He climbed a nearby telephone pole, hooked in his test set, and dialed the subscriber's house. The phone didn't ring. He tried again. The dog barked loudly, followed by a ringing telephone. Climbing down from the pole, the telephone repairman found:
1. A dog was tied to the telephone system's ground post via an iron chain and collar.
2. The dog was receiving a 90 volt signalling current.
3. After several such jolts, the dog would start barking and urinating on the ground.
4. The wet ground now completed the circuit and the phone would ring.
This shows you that some problems can be fixed by just pissing on them.

School
Hmm... Long ime no post again... Seems like it's gettinga bit redundant to blog, but today, I wanted to put up a post, hehe. School has started and everything went back to normal, with some differences. Alan have been really busy with his Science Research, and now it's done (for the time being) he can finally take a rest :). Time now goes to Chingay ><" His weekend is lost to it... ahh well who ask him so dumb to go sign up. Hehe, this is sooo cute... Alan likes Wei Ting's idea, haha!

My Brother
Some of you might have already knew, I have a brother who is 1 year younger than me. Lucky enough for us after 10 years, we are finally in the same school!!! He got L1R5 of 4 with bonuses already counted. Zomg, this unity is undescribable, learning the same things and sharing all the same fun stuff in the same school. Too bad it will only last a year :(.

There was this talk by CPM today for certain people. which I unfortunately got in. That talk actually have some point, after thinking back about it (Omg la, please, not about the 'free flow' of chicken nuggets and plain water! :D) Maybe he is right... Does an introvert like Alan have the ability to make a difference? Thinking back, he won the unsung hero award in NPCC. His contribution though small, was recognised. So here comes the question.. what can he do now? His ambition is to become a medical researcher/surgeon/doctor. He really like science research, he actually got some compliments from the researchers at IBN, he can do relatively well in studies. Maybe he can help other people with their studies? Maybe he should study hard and gain more knowledge such that he can 'possibly' find a cure for AIDS? Can't forget the One Life catchline: Fight AIDS, fight the hate, you got one life, do something. Lolols. He shall try to help others... in an attempt. There is a kind inner heart in everyone of us, the other side of homo sapiens. Actually I do have a new year resolution, one which I will only keep to myself. Why am I always like that, say something, but don't actually saying it. Does this actually piss people off? I hope not. It's me... and I only want to be nice. The joke this week not so funny.
